Dokes – Manchester

This is a pizzaria with a difference. Dokes does not bring you the italian classics but a pizza menu designed around quality british ingredients only. This is emulated in a hihgly bespoke interior where only the chairs and stools are 'off the shelf'. The Big Idea here is boxed in the term 'Modern Primitive'. Materials that are 'of the earth'; clay based plasters and paints, earthernwear tiles, charred timber and burnished metals. Lighting levels are deliberately low and dynamic with a pink / red wash from their illuminated logo. We commissioned an artist to decorate a series of large platters too illustrate the brand and their pizza offer in a subtle contemporary way and showcased them on a bespoke illuminated shelf above the comfiest and relaxed of velvet banquet seats.
